Benson Hospital, located in Paynesville Monrovia Liberia is a 60-Bed facility providing care on both medical and surgical patients. The hospital has five locally based doctors and Physician specialists that serve the community in areas such as ophthalmology and optometry.
Benson Hospital was founded in 1994 by Drs. Jimi and Angela Benson. The hospital served as a free facility for the refugees and Internally Displaced People (IDPs) during the 14-year wars in Liberia. The program was sponsored by the Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF) Spain from 2002 – 2010. Since 2010 the hospital is being run by the Benson Family.
The activities of the Facility include medical, surgical, gynecological, obstetrical, immunological, community outreach, rural service, and clinical rotation for nursing students. The past activities include diagnosing center of Ebola epidemic and vaccine center for Covid-19.
